Welcome. I'm Glad You're Here.
I’m Maury—husband, dad, and a faith-filled smart aleck who believes most of life happens somewhere between intention and reality.
I write about marriage, parenting, and faith as it’s actually lived—not neatly compartmentalized or polished for presentation. The kind of faith that shows up at the dinner table, in carpool lines, during hard conversations, and in moments where you’re figuring things out as you go.
A lot of what I write starts from observation. Something my kids say. A moment with my wife. A realization that sneaks up on me when I’m not looking for it. I try to tell those stories honestly, with a little humor and a lot of grace, because I don’t think faith grows well in isolation.
If you stick around, you’ll see:
short reflections that make you think
Notes that are more observations than announcements
longer pieces when there’s something worth slowing down for
Recently, I also finished a book called Faith With Work Boots On, a seven-week journey through the book of James. It grew out of this same space—written from a couch, with kids nearby, questions flying, and life happening in real time. You’ll see pieces of that heart show up here, whether you ever read the book or not.
Mostly, this space exists for people who are trying to live their faith with both feet on the ground—doing the work, loving their people, and learning as they go.
If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

I like " She Came to Get Me. " Thanks for sharing.
God bless!
