I’m Maury. Husband, dad, writer, and storyteller who believes faith is meant to be lived with both feet on the ground.

Grit & Wit is where I write about faith, family, marriage, parenting, and the everyday moments that shape us more than we realize. Not the polished version of life. The real one.

The kind of faith that shows up:

• at the dinner table

• on the sidelines of kids’ sports fields

• during hard conversations

• sitting in hospital waiting rooms

• laughing in the middle of chaos

• trying to parent kids while still growing up yourself

A lot of what I write starts with observation. Something one of my kids says. A moment with my wife Karen. A memory from growing up on a Tennessee farm. Sometimes it’s a funny story. Sometimes it sneaks up on me emotionally halfway through writing it. Usually it’s both.
